That time Ned Stark had a lightsaber and cheated to beat the greatest lightsaber duelist in the realm…

This past Sunday night’s episode of Game of Thrones saw Bran Stark have a weirwood dream with the Three-eyed Raven. For all you Star Wars fans who have no idea what I’m talking about, the Three-eyed Raven is played by Max von Sydow who portrayed Lor San Tekka, the old man who gave Poe Dameron the piece of the map to Luke Skywalker, and then was later killed by Kylo Ren, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. As the Three-eyed Raven he is a spiritual guide…kind of like Yoda to Bran’s Luke…there, now you’re all caught up.

Anyway, Bran and the Three-Eyed Raven travel back in time to a moment in Bran’s father’s past, the Tower of Joy, and Bran got to see his father fight the legendary Kingsguard, Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning. Now, add lightsabers, and it becomes something altogether even better.

Dayne is dual wielding those lightsabers like a boss, while Ned Stark is barely keeping up with his one lightsaber. Boy, if only we could have had an entire scene with more fighting. Somebody needs to have done the entire fight scene with lightsabers, because there was another Kingsguard and about seven men with Ned Stark. Imagine the light show that would have been.
