Legendary screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan is opening up about the second standalone Star Wars film, Han Solo: A Star Wars Story…
Speaking with website Scified.com, Kasdan was asked all about the new Han Solo film, which is set to hit theaters worldwide on May 2018. Kasdan was also asked about his involvement in Star Wars: Episode VIII, and Episode IX.
Asking Kasdan about his work in the Star Wars films, and how the character of Han Solo really shines, when he’s involved, Kasdan simply answered:

"“Well, I love Han.”"
Kasdan goes on to talk about his involvement in The Force Awakens, and how he originally only joined the writing team to write the character of Han Solo.
"“We stayed in contact and he’s a lovely man, then J.J. [Abrams] and I took over, and now I found myself instead just doing Han and consulting on “Force Awakens,” we were actually writing Episode 7 together and it happened very fast.”"
Speaking about Star Wars: Episode VIII and director Rian Johnson’s unique approach to the Star Wars cinematic universe, Kasdan had this to say:
"“Rian [Johnson] is a friend of mine. I’m getting to know Colin Trevorrow, who is going to direct Episode 9, so I feel very involved with it.”"
Kasdan goes on to talk about working with his son, brother and wife, all in the realm of Lucasfilm movies, and specifically Star Wars. He calls is challenging, yet very satisfying.
Personally, I’m extremely happy that Kasdan will be involved with the future of the Star Wars cinematic universe. And, knowing he will have direct input in the Han Solo film, just lets me know that the story will be absolutely amazing.
