This is probably the most unlikely of all the scenarios, and yet, there is still hope. Filming for Star Wars: Episode VIII has officially wrapped. Rian Johnson and his team has got to have some sort of product on film, in a can, somewhere, ready to show the brass at Disney.

Obviously the post-production and re-shoots now begin, as is the norm, but there is some refined scenes sitting somewhere, that can in fact be shown, if only Kathleen Kennedy and the powers-that-be at Disney are willing to let the public see them.

Remember the first time John Boyega’s Finn popped up on screen in the first The Force Awakens teaser, a full year away from the film’s debut? Now is the time to show us a first teaser. In 2015, at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, there was an amazing teaser shown for TFA. It created loads of buzz for Abram’s film that carried it all the way until the fall, when the next trailer was released.

And, if Disney/Lucasfilm wants to remind the fans that there are still two more films to be shown in this trilogy, then this week will be the perfect time to wow and amaze us with an Episode VIII teaser.
