On yesterday’s Star Wars Show, the cover art for both Marvel Star Wars #22 and Darth Vader #25 — the final issue — were unveiled…

The long awaited final issue of Darth Vader is almost here, and while Marvel Star Wars is keeping the details about that particular final comic, rather close to the vest, the weekly Star Wars Show revealed the cover art and a variant cover for issue #25. Check it out:

Here’s the actual looks at the cover and variant cover for Marvel Star Wars: Darth Vader #25, the final issue:

As you can see, Darth Vader is surrounded by Doctor Alpha and the insane droids, Triple Zero and Bee Tee. According to StarWars.com, this cover is painted by Adi Granov.

John Tyler Christopher is responsible for the Doctor Alpha variant, above. Darth Vader has without a doubt been Marvel Star Wars‘ most successful comic, since Marvel took over from Dark Horse, in 2015. And, I for one, will miss the Sith Lord, once issue #25, makes its debut.

Moving onto Marvel Star Wars #22: StarWars.com notes that  Han, Luke, and Leia are out to hijack an Imperial Star Destroyer.

"The issue is written by (now Eisner-winning!) Jason Aaron and illustrated by Jorge Molina — with an energetic cover by Mike Deodato, Jr."

"The pages above capture classic Star Wars dogfighting action, and Molina’s ability to recreate the facial expressions and attitudes of the film-versions of Han, Luke, and Leia, give the story even more authenticity."

This absolutely looks like a blast of a story to read, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this issue, when it hits comic book stores and digital download, on August 24.
