You Can Help Bring Star Wars: The Old Republic to Netflix

Are you a fan of Star Wars: The Old Republic? Would you like to see a version of that story told on Netflix? Well, let your voice be heard and sign a petition to bring it to the online streaming company…

A petition on Change.org has been gaining a full-head of steam, as of late, and if you’re a fan of Star Wars: The Old Republic, you might want to sit up and pay attention. Bring the Old Republic era of Star Wars to Netflix currently has 13, 663 of the targeted 15,000 needed signatures to be delivered to Disney and Lucasfilm. That means this project is just a mere 1,337 supporters away from getting this to the next level.

Here’s what the project’s founder, Jasmine St-Philippe, had to say about choosing Netflix, for the home of a Star Wars: The Old Republic series:

"“Why Netflix was chosen was because of the wealth of great content they have produced over the years, such as Narcos, House of Cards, and especially everything that Marvel has done and is still currently working on.  Not only that, but Netflix can serve as a platform to tell these stories as they were meant to be portrayed: dark, foreboding, and a touch on the mature side.  This can also give us fans our healthy dose of Star Wars while we’re waiting on the new movies or the new season of Star Wars Rebels.”"

There is no doubt in my mind that a Star Wars: The Old Republic series on Netflix would absolutely be an amazing ratings winner for Netflix. Not only die-hard Star Wars fans would enjoy this show, but causal fans would get into it, as well.

It’s important to remember, a show set in the era of the Old Republic, means that there are literally tens of thousands of Jedi and Sith roaming the galaxy…which is what people want to see: More Sith vs Jedi battles. And, in that era, the Force battles were brutal, unlike today’s stories of the higher-minded Jedi sitting in their temple, just awaiting Order 66.

Just think of what Revan did to win the Battle of Malachor V, using the Mass Shadow Generator. If you’ve watched the finale of Star Wars Rebels Season 2, then I firmly believe we saw the aftermath of the destruction wrought by Revan and his weapon of destruction, on the planet Malachor.

There are so many stories to tell, and so many characters to explore, that Disney/Lucasfilm would be crazy not to delve into the era of Star Wars: The Old Republic.
