Marvel Star Wars’ Mystery Project: Star Wars Classified

Marvel Star Wars has a brand new project in the pipeline that will be released in December of this year, titled — Star Wars Classified…

Marvel Star Wars has an all new Star Wars comic series in the works, and the mysterious comic run has a mysterious placeholder title — Star Wars Classified. Marvel Star Wars: Darth Vader writer, Kieron Gillen will be helming the mystery project, and artist Kev Walker will be providing the artwork.

This news comes hot on the heels of the Marvel Star Wars‘ announcement that there would be a series of comics covering the untold tales of Yoda. However, this begs the question: What will Star Wars Classified be covering?

There could be a major hint in the comic’s release date. December is when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will have its worldwide theatrical debut, so Star Wars Classified could be covering that film, once it premieres.

Conversely, Marvel Star Wars could go a completely different route, and choose an entirely different era from the Star Wars universe, to cover. For instance: Marvel Star Wars has yet to cover The Old Republic era, more than likely because it’s no longer considered canon. But, we’ve been seeing bits and pieces of the now “Star Wars Legends” being integrated into the new Star Wars canon, especially with Star Wars Rebels.

Of course, Marvel Star Wars could stay the course, and simply tell the tales of some of our favorite iconic Star Wars characters…but something tells me this isn’t the case.
