Fandom 250: Star Wars Fans Make FanSided’s List of Top Fandoms

Star Wars fans are a passionate group of fans, this is not up for debate. However, where do they rank compared to other fandoms? FanSided is trying to find out with the Fandom 250, a rather large project that will rank fandoms from across a broad spectrum that includes the worlds of sports, and entertainment, and more…

FanSided is revealing the nominees in groups of 10 through early December. Later, our motherships will reveal the full list, starting at #250 and going all the way to #1. The list for today,  which came out yesterday, November 14, includes Star Wars. Check it out:

  • Star Wars
  • The Walking Dead
  • Harry Potter/JK Rowling
  • Game of Thrones
  • Star Trek
  • Twilight
  • Doctor Who
  • The Hunger Games
  • Outlander
  • Supernatural

Obviously, we Star Wars fans feel a certain bias here, right? With Star Wars: The Force Awakens having such massive success in the box office over 2015 and the first few moths of 2016, then with Blu-Ray and DVD sales and now with the 3D Blu-Ray Collectors Edition of the film hitting shelves tomorrow, that film’s sales have yet to hit a bottom.

And, if you want to throw in Star Wars Rebels on Disney XD, the fact that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is coming out in a month, the popularity of Star Wars is once again at an all-time high. And, Star Wars: Episode VIII‘s marketing will kick in once 2017 kicks in, as there will only be 12 months until that film debuts in theaters. Prepare yourselves, Star Wars fans, it’s going to be a fun ride.
