While Darth Vader is triumphantly returning to the big screen for Rogue One, he isn’t the big bad Imperial boogie man that our dear Rebels have to face during the film. No, for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the main antagonist is Director Orson Krennic played by actor Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodlines).
Krennic is the director of Advanced Weapons Research for the Imperial military. Attempting to climb the Imperial hierarchy, he is obsessed with the completion of the Empire’s super-weapon project in the most efficient way possible to impress the Emperor. Krennic is described as a cruel but brilliant man, who will do anything it takes to complete the construction of the Death Star.
