K-2SO, or Kaytoo, is portrayed by Alan Tudyk (Firefly) in a motion capture role. Kaytoo is a reprogrammed Imperial security droid, reprogrammed by Captain Cassian Andor, and is now loyal to the Rebel Alliance. Where the Empire does not allow its droids to have personalities, never removing their restraining bolts and constantly wiping their memories, Kaytoo has developed his own personality, thanks to Captain Andor’s reprogramming.

Gareth Edwards had this to say about Kaytoo:

"“Kaytoo is a little bit like Chewbacca’s personality in a droid’s body. He doesn’t give a shit about what you think. He doesn’t fully check himself before he says things and does things. He just speaks the truth.”"

Sounds like we are going to get more than a few laughs from K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
