Everything You Need to Know About Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Actor Donnie Yen plays the blind warrior monk, Chirrut Îmwe. Chirrut believes in the Force but is not a Jedi, and according to everything we’ve been told by everyone attached to Rogue One, he isn’t Force sensitive. However, there are some mighty mysterious and interesting pieces of information about Chirrut Îmwe that would suggest otherwise.

• Chirrut carries, and uses with deadly accuracy for a blind man, a lightbow bowcaster made by the Guardians of the Whills. We don’t know much about this group, only that they are an ancient order attuned to the Force.
• Chirrut seems to be able to take out Imperial Stormtroopers by himself, and with the help of his friends.
• He constantly talks about the Will or “Whill” of the Force.

If The Force Awakens taught us anything about this new era of Star Wars Cinematic Universe, it’s that one does not need to be labeled a Jedi or a Sith to be Force sensitive. My money is on the fact that chirrut is Force sensitive, and we will see this come into play during Rogue One.
