Baze Malbus is portrayed by Jiang Wen in Rogue One. Baze is a freelance assassin on the planet Jedha, who has grown to hate the Empire. He is devoted to his friend and partner Chirrut Îmwe, but unlike Chirrut, he doesn’t believe in the living Force.
Baze is known as an expert marksman and a “crack shot” with his heavy repeating cannon. He has more than once bailed his friend Chirrut out of a tight situation with the Empire, and when Captain Cassian Andor and the Rebel Alliance come calling, Baze will make the choice to use his cannon to finally fight the Empire once and for all.
