Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker plays yet another prequel era holdover character in Saw Gerrera. In fact, out of all the character in Rogue One, right next to Darth Vader, Saw Gerrera has seen the most war, violence, and aggression out of anyone.

Gerrera is seen as an extremist, in fact, many in the Rebellion refuse to work with him as they see him as a terrorist. Over the years, and through many, many battles, Saw has suffered injuries too grievous to withstand, and so he has to wear a special suit that allows him to live, much like Darth Vader.
