Everything You Need to Know About Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

There are many different types of Imperial Troopers in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This isn’t A New Hope where the blundering Stormtroopers can’t hit a target to save their lives. This is the prequel to that film, where the Empire is still in control, and the Death Star hasn’t been destroyed yet. Here’s what you can expect in regards to Imperial Troopers in Rogue One:
Death Troopers
- The elite soldiers of Imperial Intelligence, Death Troopers are encased in specialized stormtrooper armor with a dark, ominous gleam. These soldiers serve as bodyguards and enforcers for Director Krennic, a highly placed officer within the Advanced Weapons Research division of the Empire. — StarWars.com
Shoretroopers

These are the Stormtroopers that we’ve all come to know and love from the Star Wars Original Trilogy. What sets them apart from the Death Troopers and the Shoretroopers? We don’t know, but perhaps in the coming months, after Rogue One has aired, more information about the Trooper program will be released from Lucasfilm Story Group and we’ll get a look behind the curtain, as it were.
