Ben Daniels will play General Merrick in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and will lead the X-Wing pilots in their bid to destroy the Empire both in space and on the planet of Scarif. If you aren’t familiar with Daniels’ work, I highly suggest binge watching a show on Starz called Flesh and Bone, or you can see him on Fox’s The Exorcist.

Our first inkling that Daniels was going to play an X-Wing pilot in Rogue One, was from the Rogue One Celebration Reel at the Star Wars Celebration, this year, when a grinning actor climbed into the cockpit of an X-Wing:
