It was Donnie Yen’s idea to make Chirrut Îmwe blind, and from all the trailers we’ve seen, it seems like it was a fantastic idea! Yen recently talked about what it was like joining the set of a Star Wars film and that when you hire him, you’re getting much more than just an actor.

"When you hire me, you’re not just getting an actor; you are getting a choreographer, a director"

There has been a great deal talked about between Star Wars fans whether or not Chirrut Îmwe is Force-sensitive or not, and a recent trailer shows him using his great skills taking out a whole lot of Imperial Stormtroopers as well as shooting his lightbow bowcaster at Imperial TIE Fighters, and this all coming from a blind man.

Yes, it appears as if making Chirrut blind was a very good idea, indeed. See? We’re all talking about it.
