Star Wars Icon Carrie Fisher Has Died
The world mourns today, as news spreads that Star Wars iconic actress, Carrie Fisher, has passed away, after suffering a massive heart attack last week…
Actress Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga, has passed away at age 60, after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles, last week. People received a statement from Fisher’s family:
"“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”"
Fisher’s heart attack happened while she was flying from London to Los Angeles on Friday, December 23. There was a paramedic on the plane who performed CPR while still in flight, and once the plane landed at LAX, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took over and rushed the actress to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, where she place in ICU.
Later, Fisher’s mother, Debbie Reynolds, made a statement via her Facebook that said the actress was in stable condition:
"“My daughter, Carrie Fisher, is in stable condition in ICU. If there is any change, the family will share the information at that time. To all her friends and fans, I thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.”"
Sadly, Fisher’s health fell from there, and by 8:55 this morning, the beloved actress passed away. There are no words that express our deep sadness at the loss of one of the most iconic and well-loved actresses in Hollywood, and the Star Wars universe will certainly never be the same.
We will miss you dearly, Carrie Fisher. You may have been a General in the latest Star Wars film, but you will always be royalty to us. Carrie Fisher is now one with the Force, and may it be with her family as they deal with the tragic loss of one of their own.
