19. Depa Billaba

Depa Billaba first appeared on the Jedi Council in The Phantom Menace. Her Legends Clone Wars-era story, Shatterpoint, is a bit bizarre. On a solo mission on a wild planet, Depa falls to the dark side and goes mad. Her former master, Mace Windu, goes after her. Depa eventually emerges from her madness, but injuries she sustained caused her to sink into a permanent comatose state.
In Marvel’s canon Star Wars comic series, Kanan, Depa Billaba is Kanan Jarrus’s master during the Clone Wars. The Jedi Master only hints at a previous period of her life where she was in a comatose state for six months. Now, though, she is kind, wise, and deeply connected to the Force. She is also somewhat of a radical thinker among the Jedi, since she does not agree with the Jedi taking military titles in the war.
Depa is a Jedi out of her time. She is too wise to let herself be caught up in the war as everyone else is. There is also something spiritual about her which the art of Kanan conveys largely without words. She is a true Jedi, and that’s why she is number 19 on our list.
