Many people may only remember Jocasta Nu as the old lady Jedi who was a little too confident in her the Jedi Temple library. But Jocasta is so much cooler than that.

Jocasta is the chief librarian of the Coruscant Jedi Temple prior to and during the Clone Wars. Her job is crucial, as she controls access to the Holocron Vault. Her confidence in the Jedi archives is supreme; when she and Obi-Wan Kenobi cannot find the planet Kamino in the records, she surmises the system simply doesn’t exist.

But she has good reason to be protective of the library. During the Clone Wars, a Clawdite bounty hunter infiltrates the Temple, subdues Jocasta, and replaces the aged librarian to gain access to the Holocron Vault. Fortunately, Jocasta, with the help of Ahsoka Tano, recovers and captures the imposter. The Jedi Master also helped the Jedi Council with the mystery of Master Syfo-Dias, the Jedi who ordered the creation of the clone army.

Jocasta represents a side of the Jedi rarely seen: masters of information. She also deserves credit as the first female Jedi to speak in the Star Wars saga. For these reasons, she ranks as number 45 on our list.
