J.J. Abrams has something to say about his Star Wars fandom

J.J. Abrams is a Star Wars fan before he is a director or a producer. He recently spoke about his fandom and the upcoming Han Solo movie with Fox News.

A lot of us feel stoked about the incoming new Star Wars films. This “us” also includes The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams.

In an interview with Fox News, Abrams talked about his personal fandom as well as his thoughts on an upcoming Star Wars film.

Like any self-respecting Star Wars fan, working on the franchise utterly thrills Abrams:

"“I think it is a thrill to be a part of something that meant so much to me as a kid and to be part of allowing it to mean so much for kids now. It is fun to see it live on in various forms and ways even five years ago I would have never imagined it would have continued and knowing what is coming up is even more exciting.”"

Although Abrams isn’t slated to direct any future Star Wars films, you’ll still see his name rolling during the latter’s credits. After directing The Force Awakens, Abrams decided to stick around as an executive producer forThe Last Jedi. He and The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson worked together on writing the screenplay and saving the galaxy from the First Order.

Since Abrams is a fan before he’s a director or a producer, he also commented to Fox News on the standalone Han Solo movie releasing next year:

"“I can tell you it is an amazing script, and the cast is obviously extraordinary…”"

I absolutely love seeing this sort of thing from directors/producers. It makes movies so much better if the people who work on them have been fans since the very beginning.
