The Dark Fate of Ezra Bridger

The only other possibility is that one, or both, Jedi fall to the Dark Side. Admittedly, this applies to Ezra more so than Kanan; as the headstrong padawan is prone to emotional outbursts and impulsive acts. He also possesses a willingness to use any means to save his friends. Sound familiar? It should: Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader for the very same reason.

Might the Empire twist Ezra in the same fashion? Remember, in Return of the Jedi Obi-Wan warns Luke that his “feelings could be made to serve the Emperor.” Perhaps Obi-Wan wasn’t speaking cryptically but was referencing an actual event. Maybe the Empire engineered a situation where Ezra was forced to turn to the Dark Side. This could even lead Ezra and Kanan to a confrontation much like the one Anakin and Obi-Wan had on Mustafar. Of course, it’s entirely possible that Obi-Wan was specifically referring to Anakin, and Ezra meets a different fate.

If Ezra does turn to the Dark Side, there’s still only a minor chance that he’s alive during A New Hope based on Tarkin’s previously-mentioned assertion. This doesn’t really explain what happens to Kanan, but the reality is that neither he or Ezra are a match for Darth Vader. Like Ahsoka, the inevitable may soon find the Jedi Rebels.
