The Paragon of Mandalore

Switching gears, Rebels gave audiences a huge clue for Sabine Wren’s future in the episode Legacy of Mandalore. Sabine, an exile among her people, returned to her homeworld in hopes of rallying Mandalore against the Empire. Her clan, led by Ersa Wren, became the second after Fenn Rau’s to rebel, yet stopped short of joining the Rebellion.

Instead, Ersa and Sabine decided to plan a rescue of Sabine’s father while covertly attempting to win the support of the other Mandalorian clans. This means that Mandalore will likely wage an insurrection against the Empire sometime later; maybe when the Rebel Alliance destroys the Death Star.

In the novel Star Wars Battlefront: Twilight Company it’s noted that destroying the Death Star was a rallying call that sparked smaller conflicts throughout the Galaxy. Sabine will certainly be a part of that effort on Mandalore should it occur. Considering that Mandalorian space consists of hundreds, if not thousands of systems, Sabine could be wrapped up in that conflict for the entirety of the Original Trilogy.
