Star Wars Celebration 2017 will be live streamed on YouTube
By Elaine Tveit
Star Wars fans who can’t make it to Star Wars Celebration 2017 in Orlando can watch the most important panels and interviews on a YouTube live stream.
In the wake of successful live streams for Star Wars Celebration in 2015 and 2016, Lucasfilm will stream Star Wars Celebration 2017 live from the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando (via The Star Wars Show).
The livestream brings the most exciting panels and interviews from Star Wars Celebration live onto your mobile device. Fans can access the live stream on YouTube starting the morning of the first day of Celebration, April 13, and continuing on through the last day, April 16.
The Star Wars Show hosts Andi Gutierrez and Anthony Carboni will host the live stream from the convention floor. In between exciting panels like The Last Jedi and the Star Wars Rebels season 4 previews, Gutierrez and Carboni will interview Star Wars celebrities and Lucasfilm crew members. Like last year, they may also highlight exhibitors such as Hasbro and Funko who have booths at the convention.
There is a drawback to watching Star Wars Celebration live stream instead of attending the convention in person. In the past, Lucasfilm demonstrated there are certain things which only Celebration attendees can view, exclusively. For example, during the Rogue One panel at Celebration Europe last year, a special preview of the standalone movie showing Darth Vader and Jyn Erso was played for the audience. But the live stream showed a publicly released trailer instead of the preview.
For the most part, though, the live stream will debut the latest Star Wars news in real-time. And, as always, we will have the latest news for you here at Dork Side.
