LEGO Star Wars Celebration exclusive set raffle happening through April 6
By Elaine Tveit
LEGO is raffling off purchase opportunities for their Star Wars Celebration exclusive set: Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in the Death Star Detention Block AA-23, preparing to rescue Princess Leia.
LEGO will continue the theme of Star Wars‘ 40th anniversary at Star Wars Celebration Orlando with their Celebration exclusive. According to the press release, the 220-piece set is inspired by one of the most fun scenes in A New Hope, in which Han Solo and Luke Skywalker infiltrate the Death Star Detention Block AA-23 in stormtrooper gear to rescue Princess Leia.
To purchase this set, Star Wars Celebration attendees need to enter a raffle on the official Celebration website. The raffle awards purchase opportunities to a limited number of fans, who can then buy the set for $40 at the LEGO booth on the convention floor.
The raffle is open now at this link and will remain open through 12:01 A.M. on Thursday, April 6. Winners will be notified by April 7. Only Star Wars Celebration attendees may enter.

The purpose of the raffle is probably to give LEGO Star Wars collectors first bite at the set’s limited quantities. LEGO gave no indication their set will be available to anyone who doesn’t win the raffle. For fans who don’t win the raffle or can’t attend Celebration, we will list whether or not the set is available for purchase online after the event.
Funko ran a similar lottery for their exclusive Star Wars-themed Pop! figures. In Funko’s lottery, the winners obtained exclusive times to enter the booth to purchase their desired figures. Only after the winners are through is the booth opened to the public, and only then if any stock is still available.
