Star Wars Celebration 40th Anniversary panel pays tribute to Carrie Fisher

Today, Star Wars Celebration Orlando began, and Lucasfilm paid a very special tribute to the late Carrie Fisher during the 40th Anniversary panel….

Star Wars Celebration 2017, in Orlando, Florida opened its doors today, Thursday, April 13, and the much anticipated Star Wars 40th Anniversary Panel was held and hosted by Star Wars iconic actor, Warwick Davis.

Many past and present actors of the Star Wars films were brought on stage. Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine/Sidious), Billy Dee-Williams (Lando Calrissian), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), and many more. However, the real shining moment, so far, has been the tribute to the late Carrie Fisher, legendary actress and Star Wars icon in her own right. Get your tissues ready folks, it’s a moving tribute, to be sure.

Afterward, legendary composer John Williams came out with a full orchestra and played Princess Leia’s theme. It was a loving, and moving tribute to a woman who redefined women in Hollywood and what they could accomplish.

We will always remember Carrie Fisher and hope that her memory lives on. You will be able to see her in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and in some capacity in Star Wars: Episode IX.
