Vanity Fair’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi family photos are making us cry

Vanity Fair has revealed its coverage of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and as part of that coverage, heartwarming photos of Carrie Fisher with her daughter, and with Mark Hamill, have been released…

Just like it did with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Vanity Fair is covering Star Wars: The Last Jedi with four separate covers, informative interviews with the cast, and exciting insider reveals. And, the photoshoot, done by world renown photographer Annie Leibovitz, is stunning.

As part of that shoot, Leibovitz captured the recently departed Carrie Fisher (General Leia) with her daughter Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Kaydel Connix), as well as Fisher with actor Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).

Fisher’s photo with her daughter is absolutely beautiful, and it shows the bond between mother and daughter like no other photo could.

"MemoriesFisher, who died in December, with daughter Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Kaydel Connix)."

Lourd, who was also in The Force Awakens, is rocking a version of the classic Princess Leia hair buns made iconic by her mother Carrie Fisher in 1977 with Star Wars: A New Hope. Again, this photo is beautiful and heartwarming.

Fisher’s photo with Hamill is equally stunning:

"MemoriesFisher and Hamill, with whom she first worked four decades ago."

I love this photo so much, for so many reasons. But, mostly, because it resonates with the love and respect the two actors shared for each other, for the past 40 years.
