Star Wars Rebels Nominated for an Emmy

Earlier today, the nominations for the 69th Emmy Awards were announced. Coming off of a Saturn Award for “Best Animated Series”, Dave Filoni is looking to add another award to his collection. Rebels Emmy nomination is for “Outstanding Children’s Program.”

Despite a “Youth 7” TV rating, Rebels appeals to Star Wars fans both young and old. With the 4th and final season approaching, Rebels continues to leave its mark with both fans and critics alike.

Rebels Season 1 begins approximately five years before the events of Rogue One, with Season 4 projected to end where Episode IV: A New Hope begins.

Rebels takes us on a journey through the lens of a former Jedi Padawan and Order 66 survivor Kanan Jarrus, voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr( She’s All That, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scooby Doo), Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren voiced by Tiya Sircar(17 Again, The Vampire Diaries), his newly appointed learner in Ezra Bridger(Taylor Gray), Twilek pilot Hera Syndulla (Vanessa Marshall), Lasat survivor in Zeb (Steve Blum) , and their eccentric droid Chopper.

Our princess, Carrie Fisher, was also honored with a nomination for “Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series” for playing Mia on Amazon’s “Catastrophe”, in the sixth episode of their most recent season.

The Emmy Awards take place on the evening of September 17th, 2017( 8E/5P) and will air on CBS. And, you can watch the Emmys live on CBS All Access.
