Day two of D23 is happening right now, and as part of the fun, the Disney live-action film slate is on parade in Hall D23 and you can keep up with the Star Wars films at D23…
The live-action train began rolling a few minutes ago, and Disney Chairman Alan Horn is on hand to get the party started. Many Star Wars fans expect some new footage from The Last Jedi, even if it is a behind the scenes sizzle reel, but we’ll take what we can get.
Horn introduced a huge slate of live-action and animated films that Disney expects to roll out in the coming years, starting with this one.
In case you’re wondering, Here’s where Star Wars lands on that slate:
That is Star Wars: The Last Jedi at the end of this year (2017), followed by Han Solo (still untitled on this board, but we expect an official title today) in May of 2018, capped off by 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX.
With the excitement for Star Wars at an all-time high, look for Lucasfilm to capitalize on the success of back to back MASSIVE box-office years by showing something in the way of new footage from The Last Jedi. In fact, Rian Johnson is there at D23, as well as at least three of the cast members have been seen backstage at Hall D23.
That’s John Boyega (Finn), Brienne of Tarth from Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), and Daisy Ridley (Rey).
Actor Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan has been spotted today at D23. Speculation is he is there only for the live-action Christopher Robin movie, but we would not be disappointed at all if he were there for an Obi-Wan standalone film announcement as well. We shall see.
Lucasfilm is up now, and Alan Horn is talking The Last Jedi!
Director Rian Johnson is on stage now…
And now a few cast members have joined him!
New faces there as well, like Kelly Marie Tran, who plays Rose, Laura Dern as Holdo, and Benicio Del Toro as the mysterious DJ.

AND NOW NEW FOOTAGE IS BEING SHOWN!
Well, while it was new, it was a behind the scenes reel. As Ackbar says at the end of the BTS reel, “It’s a wrap!” That’s all folks, thanks for tuning in!
