New teaser posters give details of The Last Jedi characters…

Fans were pleasantly surprised with the release of six new teaser posters for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Luke, Rey, Finn, Poe, and Leia represented the light, while Kylo Ren was our lone dark-side presence…which begs the question: Where is Snoke?

Entertainment Weekly interviewed Rian Johnson — Director of The Last Jedi — and he gave some insight into the seemingly ominous red color used in these posters. Using the word “symbolic,” when referencing the color choice for the film, Johnson confirms The Last Jedi is “suffused with it.”

In their respective posters, both Rey and Luke can be seen holding the hilt of Anakin Skywalker’s original lightsaber. This also raises the question of where is Luke’s iconic green lightsaber from Return of the Jedi? Here he is:

Did he lose it during Kylo Ren’s Jedi purge? Or did Luke abandon the green blade all together? And now, Rey:

Will Rey use the Skywalker family saber? What about the staff? Turning that into a double-bladed lightsaber would make my geek heart sing for days!

Kylo Ren is helmet-less in his poster, like the majority of his Last Jedi reveals so far. Could Kylo Ren be abandoning the ways of the mysterious Knights of Ren? Kylo could be embracing the ancient ways of the Sith instead. Grandpa would be so proud!

Speaking of Vader, here is his daughter, Princess/General Leia. Of course, Kylo (Ben Solo) Ren might not like the fact that mother is wearing red. Isn’t that supposed to be a bad guy color?

Here’s the leader of Leia’s Resistance X-Wing fighters, and the best pilot in said Resistance…according to him:

Finally, here we have Poe’s BFF, Finn. Looks like Finn is up and moving after his injuries received at the hands of Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens.

We want to hear from you: What do you think the red means? Which poster is your favorite? Do you already have these saved as wallpapers on your phone and computers? Let us know in the comments below and on social media.
