1. Ahsoka confronts Darth Vader
Episode: Season 2 Episode 22: Twilight of the Apprentice Part 2
The Moment: After traveling to the Sith world of Malachor with two Jedi, Ahsoka and her company journey into the depths of an ancient temple. After a series of events that leave the group in shambles (Kanan being blinded by Maul and surviving an attack by three Inquisitors), Ezra is alone and confronted by the fearsome Darth Vader. With a death blow about to be delivered to Ezra by the Sith Lord, Ahsoka shows up to save the day.
After an intense dialogue and duel between the two, Ahsoka is separated from Vader after being knocked off the ledge of the Sith temple. Vader turns his sights back to Ezra and attempts to take the Sith Holocron from the aspiring Jedi. Ahsoka then blindsides him and is able to land a blow by her lightsaber to his helmet.
Vader calls out to Ahsoka and it’s officially revealed to her that Vader is really her former Master Anakin Skywalker. After Ahsoka tells Anakin(now Vader) that she will not leave him again, Vader then vows to kill her.
The scene ends with Vader and Ahsoka resuming their duel, with the doors closing, leaving their fates unknown. We see Vader walking away from the Sith temple with his injuries and it appears that Ahsoka is walking into the depths of the Sith temple with her true fate unknown.
Why It’s Memorable: The feels. Major feels. The ultimate duo of Ahoska and Anakin during the Clone Wars could possibly be the best thing about Star Wars. Period. Spending five seasons with this master and apprentice, then Ahsoka leaving the Jedi order, was just a tear-jerker. At that point, we thought that we’d never see our favorite duo together ever again.
Un-aired Clone Wars stories, Rebels, and the Ahoska novel reveal that Ahsoka and Anakin did reunite one last time after all. Right before Obi-Wan and Anakin rushed off to save the Chancellor, the master and apprentice had one last moment. Anakin revealed how proud of her he was. He also gave Ahsoka her green-bladed lightsabers back( though she did not rejoin the order).
So when Ahoska realizes that her former master has become the embodiment of evil, it just hits my heart really hard. The fact that Ahsoka reaches out to the man under the mask and he not only refuses her offer but vows to destroy her, just shows how far gone Anakin really is. Only Luke is able to bring Anakin back.
