41. Master Plo Kloon and his Clone-troopers are stranded
Episode: Season 1 Episode 2: Rising Malevolence
"Episode Summary: An attack by a devastating new Separatist weapon — the powerful starship Malevolence — leaves Jedi Master Plo Koon and his clone troopers struggling to survive until Anakin and Ahsoka can find them."
The Moment: Ahoska and Anakin attempt to rescue a group of clones and Jedi Master Plo Koon, after they are ambushed by Separatists forces. Ahsoka and Anakin disobey the orders of the Jedi council in their rescue mission, but are able to rescue the Kel Dor Jedi Master and just a handful of the clones who survived the massacre.
Why It’s Memorable: Ahsoka and her devotion to her friends and willingness to save them at great risk, even if it means disobeying orders. I love the connection that Plo and Ahsoka have, with the Jedi Master being the one who discovered her as a youngling.
Plo is one of the coolest Jedi in the galaxy. Period. What’s also lost in the shuffle is the fact that he is one of the best pilots in the galaxy and can more than hold his own with Anakin Skywalker. So in Revenge of the Sith when he is shot down in the air by Clone-troopers, that is kind of a big deal.
Anakin’s lesson to Ahsoka on how she goes about disobeying is a crucial moment in their relationship and her development as a character in the show. He teaches the young learner that it’s okay to butt heads with authority, but you have to do so with tact. Ahsoka is a fast learner and you see her take that lesson to heart as the Clone Wars rage on.
