40. R2-D2 foils the schemes of Boba Fett

Episode:  Season 2 Episode 21: R2 Come Home

"Episode Summary:  Boba Fett and his band of bounty hunters lead Anakin and Mace into a deadly trap on Vanqor. It’s up to R2-D2 to journey back to Coruscant and warn the Jedi of their brethrens’ peril. Battling beast and bounty hunter along the way, the trusty droid finally communicates his warning to Ahsoka and Plo Koon, who rush to Vanqor to save Mace and Anakin from a fiery death."

The Moment: R2-D2

Why It’s Memorable: Boba Fett wasn’t always the cool and collected bounty hunter we see in the Original Trilogy. As a teenager he had anger issues, which didn’t help his quest for vengeance against Mace Windu for killing his father.

Seeing Boba team up with notorious bounty hunter such as Aurra Sing and Bossk is always a fun adventure in the Clone Wars. Anything with the origins of Boba is okay with me and I do hope that we get a Boba Fett movie with the focus on a plethora of bounty hunters.

In Legends, it was always thought that Boba used the armor of his deceased father in his hey-day, but that apparently is not the case, since the helmet is used as a trap in the attempt to kill Mace Windu and is destroyed.

I really enjoyed the action in this episode and it is always a treat to see the Jedi Master from Haruun Kal engaged in battle. Mace Windu was always heralded as an equal to Yoda and we see it here, and also when he kills Jango Fett, and when lastly where he (nearly) defeats Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith. Seeing both he and Anakin, who later on become rivals of sort, working together and using their joint powers is sight to see. Who else is excited for the new Mace Windu comic?
