28. Hondo captures Anakin, Obi-Wan, & Dooku

Episode:  Season 1 Episode 11: Dooku Captured

"Episode Summary: During their own attempt to kidnap Count Dooku, Anakin and Obi-Wan discover that the Sith Lord has already been captured by pirates. Hondo Ohnaka and his gang of pirates hold Dooku captive in their den on Florrum, and hold him for ransom. It’s up to Anakin and Obi-Wan to see if the offer is too good to be true."

The Moment: Dooku is trapped in a cell with the two Jedi after he is captured by the pirate Hondo Ohnaka and his gang of pirates just like the two Jedi. The three must work together to escape, which they do, and the Count escapes the Jedi’s grasp once again.

Why It’s Memorable: Hondo displays that even though he provides comic relief a good deal of the time, he is a pirate you do not want to mess with, just ask the Sith and the Jedi. Seeing his crew at full strength during the Clone Wars makes me sad when we reach Rebels, set about 20 years later in the timeline, where we see Hondo all alone without his men and home planet.

There are a lot of fun moments when Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Dooku are in a prison cell with one another. Anakin and Obi-Wan making wisecracks at the “old man” literally made me laugh out-loud a few times. This moment was a change of pace and something different, where the Jedi and the Sith are normally engaged in lightsaber combat when they meet on the show.
