27. Anakin rescues Padme from Grievous
Episode: Season 1 Episode 4: Destroy Malevolence
"Episode Summary: Padmé Amidala and C-3PO are taken hostage by General Grievous, leaving Anakin and Obi-Wan to save the Senator and complete the destruction of the Malevolence."
The Moment: Anakin rescues Padmé when her ship is taken hostage by the ruthless General Grievous
Why It’s Memorable: Padmé is one of the most underrated characters in all of Star Wars. Her strength in The Phantom Menace and her willingness to defend her people really stuck with me.
In Attack of the Clones, I thought that the novelization and deleted scenes did an excellent job of depicting Anakin and Padme’s relationship. George, why did you cut those scenes for 15 minutes of C-3PO flying around? Oh why?!
I really thought their relationship hit its stride in Revenge of the Sith, making the ending that more tragic and epic.
What really enhances those films is their relationship in the Clone Wars, displayed in this moment.
The two lovers rarely ever get a chance for some alone time, so they have to make due with moments like these. This episode is fun, romantic, and a good addition to the relationship of the two, displaying the playful and fun, but also skills, of the two. They make a great team and couple!
The Clone Wars also makes sure that Grievous and Anakin never meet face to face until Revenge of the Sith, but they have a fun way of having the two almost cross paths.
