7. Yoda impresses King Katuunko

Episode:  Season 1 Episode 1: Ambush

"Episode Summary: Jedi Master Yoda and three clone troopers — Jek, Thire, and Rys — must face off against Count Dooku’s dreaded assassin Ventress and her massive droid army to prove the Jedi are strong enough to protect a strategic planet and forge a treaty for the Republic."

The Moment: Yoda travels to the neutral system of Toydaria, where is able to gain the alliance of this world over his former apprentice Count Dooku.

Why It’s Memorable: There is a really cool moment in this episode and it’s easy to overlook if you aren’t paying attention. If you have read Lords of the Sith, there is a scene where Palpatine tells his Royal guards, which one happens to be a clone, to take off their helmets. Instead of encouraging the troopers, he uses it as a moment to taunt the man that Darth Vader used to be.

Rewind about 10 years back, Yoda has a group of clones remove their helmets, but teaches a completely different lesson. He tells them how important they are and their worth is more than just their identity as clones, telling them how intelligent and strong with the Force they are. I really enjoyed the contrast in the characters of Yoda and Palpatine that th e writers use. Yoda, who is full of goodness, and Palpatine, AKA Darth Sidious, who is just pure evil.

Yoda is able to easily disarm and embarrass Ventress, even making fun of her in the process, which I really enjoyed. Much to learn you still have, young one, and she really does. Keep in mind that Ventress is really powerful, enough to where Sidious views her as a potential threat. So the fact Yoda defeats her with ease, is really telling.
