Episode:  Season 3 Episode 2: ARC Troopers

"Episode Summary: The Republic learns of an impending Separatist attack on Kamino, and Anakin and Obi-Wan hurry to the planet. After the Republic repulses the Separatists’ diversionary assault, the real attack begins. Asajj Ventress, General Grievous and an army of droids rise out of the oceans, bent on destroying Kamino’s clone production facilities. Rex, Cody, Fives and Echo lead the clones in a desperate defense of their home planet."

The Moment: Cornered during a deadly firefight, the clones (including the beloved old clone 99) are forced to work together in order to ensure the survival of their home planet. Heroic 99 gives his life to help his brothers.

Why It’s Memorable: One of the best parts of the Clone Wars series is that it develops and humanizes the characters of the clones. Old 99 has spoken a lot of truth into the lives of his brothers and played a pivotal role in the success of the Domino Squad. Having been labeled defective, 99’s desire to prove himself is palpable throughout his brief appearances on the show. The nature of his death was the writer’s way of honoring this long-held desire.

Which also makes wonder the true nature and character of Jango Fett. In Attack of the Clones, Fett is labeled and plays the role of a bad guy, but after seeing the clone’s bravery throughout the series, it makes me wonder if he is more honorable and good than I realized, with the same being true for his son Boba.
