"Comic Summary: Getting cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi and being rejected by his former Sithmaster Darth Sidious isn’t going to defeat Darth Maul. In fact, it only makes him mad enough to take on the galaxy, with an army of Mandalorians. With his Shadow Collective army stalled, Darth Maul calls on Mother Talzin for help and is sent reinforcements-the deadly Nightbrothers! Maul is ready again to take on the Separatist droid army, Count Dooku, and General Grievous, in a trio of simultaneous battles! Darth Maul has captured Darth Sidious’s new apprentice! Mother Talzin and Maul attempt to sway Count Dooku to their cause, revealing surprising facts about Maul’s past. But an attack by an elite Jedi strike force throws everyone’s plans into chaos! The Moment: Maul escapes his former Master’s grip with the help of Almec and a band of Mandalorian warriors. After a number of battles with Dooku, Grievous, and finally with his previous master, Maul finally gets a chance at redemption and revenge against his former teacher. He is over-matched, however; and needs the sacrifice of his mother Talzin to escape the clutches of the vile Sidious once again.

Why It’s Memorable: Maul and Dooku get to interact for the first time. You see Maul’s jealousy and Dooku’s inferiority, which fuels Maul’s rage towards his former Master’s replacement for him.

We also get four Dark Side users, A Jedi enforcer, and a legion of Mandos. Just think, we almost saw this arc on screen in the Clone Wars, before the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney. What a shame!

This comic is hard to find, but it’s worth tracking down if you can!
