3. The younglings face adversity during their Jedi trials

Episode:  Season 5  Episodes 6-7: The Gathering & A Test of Strength 

"Episode Summary:  Ahsoka escorts a group of younglings to Ilum, where they will learn from Yoda and undergo a crucial rite of passage: the construction of their lightsabers. They grapple with both physical and inner challenges as they face the dangerous task ahead of them. As the younglings return from Ilum with Ahsoka, their ship comes under attack by Hondo’s gang of pirates. The children must use ingenious and improvised traps to thwart the brigands."

The Moment: The younglings show their bravery in their quest for their own kyber crystals, as well as standing up to Hondo and his ruthless gang.

Why It’s Memorable: The Force works in mysterious ways and the same rings true for this group of younglings, who pace their kyber crystal trial in a way they were not anticipating. Hondo nearly takes their crystals and their lives, what a jerk, but Ahsoka shows here growing role as a leader, guiding the younglings to victory.

I also love when we see this group actually constructing their lightsabers, with the help of an ancient droid named Huyang, who was around when Grandmaster Yoda constructed his very first laser sword. I’m not sure why that story hasn’t been told yet but get on it Lucasfilm. I’m still holding out for a Yoda origins story, even though we’ve been told it’s not going to happen.
