46. Bariss Offee gets possessed by a Geonosian worm

Episode:  Season 2 Episode 8: Brain Invaders

"Episode Summary:  Medical supplies are desperately needed for a crucial Republic battlefront. While the Jedi Knights transport Poggle the Lesser as a prisoner to Coruscant, the Padawans Barriss Offee and Ahsoka Tano are dispatched to escort the medical frigate to its destination. When Geonosian brain worms take control of the clone troopers aboard their supply ship, Ahsoka and Barriss must battle to stop the vessel from unleashing the deadly plague upon the galaxy."

The Moment: A handful of clones and Jedi Padawan Bariss Offee are infected by brain worms on the world of Geonosis.

Also, Anakin interrogates the Arch Duke Poggle the Lesser of the same planet, seeking answers on how to save those infected by these brain-controlling insects.

Why It’s Memorable: This episode had a zombie-like/spiritual warfare-style vibe that I thought was really creative and unique. It also foreshadows the later betrayal of Ahsoka at the hands of Bariss, which was a nice, subtle touch.

More Dark Side vibes are shown in Anakin’s actions. Instead of using patience, he uses anger and brute force(pun intended btw) to successfully gain the answers he’s seeking from Poggle. It reminded me of Darth Vader in Lords of the Sith, the Marvel comics, and Rogue One. Anakin was well on his way to becoming a Dark Lord even as early as the Clone Wars.
