The First Order just got some massively badass new toys in its battle with the Resistance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi…

On this week’s The Star Wars Show, it was revealed that the First Order has upgraded its arsenal in its war with the Resistance, and if General Leia’s crew doesn’t step up their game, it could spell the end for our heroes in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

According to StarWars.com, the Dreadnought is classified as a “Mandator IV-class warship,” and it features two”enormous” orbital autocannons, which allow it to engage in large-scale bombardments. It also has a 24-point defense anti-aircraft cannon array on its dorsal surface. Its size could be called gargantuan at 7,669.72 meters in length, which is the equivalent of 25, 162.8 feet.

The AT-M6  or All Terrain Megacaliber Six and is named or the laser cannon on the rear of the vehicle. The AT-M6 is far larger AT-AT and has been dubbed the “Gorilla-Walker” by many fans who’ve seen its design. Those “simian-like” legs help stabilize the cannons fore and aft.

Kevin Jenkins who helped Rian Johnson develop the Dreadnaught and AT-M6 for The Last Jedi, said his influence came from the adaptation in war.

"Combination of the original trilogy stuff, in the sense that I designed everything in Episode VIII as if it was to be a model. World War II and the Korean War and that era was a heavy influence in all the design, going into the ‘60s."

These are awesome new instruments of war and I can’t wait to see if the Resistance has an answer.
