Empire Magazine has revealed two covers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and more…

Over the weekend, during Force Friday II, Empire Magazine decided to tease Star Wars fans with a mysterious tweet about Star Wars: The Last Jedi that caused quite the stir.

Later, Empire revealed the first cover for the magazine’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi coverage and this one is for subscribers only.

It appears as if Empire’s reveal is Rey handing Luke the Skywalker familial lightsaber. His robotic hand reaching for the saber. This makes one wonder if this is how the opening scene of The Last Jedi will go.

Next, Empire revealed the newsstand cover. Check it out:

Much like the subscriber’s cover, the newsstand cover is holographic, but it shows Luke and Rey back to back, as Rey wields the Skywalker lightsaber. Rey looks very serious, and Luke looks like a grumpy old man who has spent his years in exile yelling at Porgs to get off his lawn.

There’s also the tag-line: “The full story of Luke Skywalker’s emotional return,” that draws our attention. And, thanks to Redditor kidwifi, we have an Imgur album of scans he took of the magazine.

There are some great shots and stories in there to be read, like the five best Snoke theories. There’s also an amazing photo of Poe Dameron’s X-Wing approaching what appears to be a First Order Dreadnought.

Stay tuned to Dork Side of the Force as we continue to bring you all the latest news on Star Wars: The Last Jedi as soon as it happens.
