As The Last Jedi looms closer, we are now shifting gears to the untitled Star Wars: Episode IX, where we recently learned that Colin Trevorrow will not direct the next episodic film.

Now we begin to wonder who is going to take on the mantle of continuing the saga story? There are so many big name directors out there that could helm the final episode in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, but we’ve narrowed it down to five. Here is a list of 5 directors we would like to see direct Episode IX.

Ridley Scott.

Scott would be a great choice as director, due to the fact that he has successfully created one of the most talked about space movies ever made (other than Star Wars of course) in Alien, which is only one of his crowning achievements. He directed Blade Runner back in 1982, which was nominated for 2 Oscars and Gladiator in 2000, which won a total of 5 Oscars.

Clearly, this man knows what he is doing whenever it comes to filming a movie. He has directed over 40 films, written 3 and produced over 120. This veteran of cinematography would be an amazing addition to the list of incredible men to continue the saga of Star Wars.
