Darth Vader will need some assistance in tracking down a savvy Jedi Master in an upcoming Vader (2017) story arc…

Darth Vader (2017) has really brought the goods so far, starting with the Sith Lord hunting down a Jedi, in order to acquire a kyber crystal for his first Sith lightsaber. Vader then traveled to Mustafar to construct the weapon, using the power of the darkness to accomplish that task.

Recently, more details have surfaced on what is next for the newly christened Sith Lord.

Issue # 6 will have Vader return to his Master, Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine on Coruscant, where he will then challenge him on who is truly the superior Sith. We know that Vader doesn’t win that contest, so it will be intriguing to see how that plays out.

Following that encounter, we will then be introduced to the Grand Inquisitor, who first appeared in Star Wars Rebels season 1.

If you are late to the party, here is more on who this Dark Side wielder is, thanks to StarWars.com.

"Not much is known about the Empire’s Grand Inquisitor. A Pau’an male, he was tasked by Darth Vader to hunt down any surviving Jedi Knights. The Inquistor was an intimidating figure, dressed in all black and wielding a red, double-bladed lightsaber. After several encounters with Kanan Jarrus and his Padawan Ezra Bridger, the Inquisitor died in a lightsaber duel with Kanan – but warned the rogue Jedi that his victory had unleashed something terrible."

We discover in season 2 of Rebels that the Grand Inquisitor was once a Jedi Temple guard during The Clone Wars era.

We will delve more into the Dark Side of the Force, where we are then again met by some of the Grand Inquisitor’s comrades, where more Dark Side Jedi-hunters will emerge.

Questions will be answered on how exactly Vader trains these clandestine assassins and a few their origins will be revealed.

I’m guessing that some, if not all, are the younglings who were captured by Darth Sidious during The Clone Wars era, seen in a few episodes in the animated series.

"Vader and the Inquisitorius set their sights on one of the most dangerous Jedi remaining alive…and it’s not who you’d expect."

We learn the Jedi that will be hunted is none other than Jocasta Nu, librarian and archivist of the Jedi Temple.

"The Jedi Archives are the galaxy’s greatest repository of knowledge, and Madame Jocasta Nu is their Chief Librarian. She helps other Jedi find information in the Archive using its data terminals, and she controls access to the restricted contents of its Holocron Vault. Jocasta Nu can sometimes be too confident in thinking that the Archives contain the correct answers to all questions."

What I’m anticipating from the comic’s final Issue is a lot of pain, suffering, even death. The comic art of Vader meditating over Mustafar hints that Jocasta Nu will meet her end in that fiery world, where Jedi go to die.

This ties into what the Grand Inquisitor tells Kanan before he falls to his doom in Rebels: “There are some things far more frightening than death.” That is also the location where Kanan was in transit to before his friends rescued him from that brutal death.
