New Trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi dropped last night and we’re here to break it down using our Force powers of GIF making…

The new Trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi dropped during halftime of the Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings Monday Night Football game and predictably everyone is going nuts. With a new director at the helm, there’s no denying that the trailer gave a much different feel from that of The Force Awakens.  The trailer gives us a glimpse a film that feels much darker in tone and more massive in scale.  Here’s what we saw:

The Trailers begin with Kylo Ren overlooking the massive First Order force assembled on his Star Destroyer. Here, we get our first glimpse at the new AT-M6 (a.k.a. Gorilla Walkers) as they presumably march towards a Resistance base.

Next, we see Kylo Ren from overhead leading a squad for First Order Storm Troopers on a very Mustafar like planet surface…or the new planet Crait.

After a shot of Kylo Ren in with his helmet on we forward to a shot of him picking up his crossguard lightsaber hilt.

We then transition to Rey on Ahch-To as we see her igniting Luke’s(formerly Anakin’s) old lightsaber.

After we see a brief exchange where Rey hands Luke his old lightsaber, probably from the start of the movie, we see Rey venture into the Caves of the First Jedi temple on Ahch-To.  Then we may be seeing what has been previously referred to as the Journal of the Whills.

We forward to shots of Rey training in the Arts of lightsaber combat.

We return to the flashback see briefly in Episode VII of Luke and R2D2 standing outside of what we will presume is a burning Jedi Temple.

Not the Luke we remember…

Luke describes his fear of raw strength in the Force while standing in front of an Ancient Jedi Symbol.

Next, Kylo Ren lets his rage get the best of him as he smashes his helmet against the wall in his Star Destroyer.

Our First Glimpse of Kylo Ren’s new Tie Fighter in action.

Kylo Ren and his mother connect thought the force before he takes aim to destroy her ship, and we get out first look at General Leia in the trailer.

The Millennium Falcon roars into action with ties in close pursuit in a cave on the same Mustafar like the planet we saw previously in the trailer?

Ready for something cute?

First Porg action of the trailer, we see it emit a “big” roar in emulation of Chewbacca who can be seen just behind the Porg in the Co-Pilot Seat of the Millennium Falcon.

We then See Poe Dameron in a resistance Cruiser, reacting to the attack occurring at the hands of the first order:

He then races into action in his X-Wing, making an attack run on a First Order Star Destroyer. Finally, Finn makes his first appearance of the trailer and does so in a dramatic Fashion as he engages Captain Phasma in melee combat.

The outside a Resistance base on what appears to be Crait, and we see a beautiful Ice like creature running for cover and towards the entrance of the Resistance Base.

Next, we see Tiefighters fly into battle against resistance Ski Speeders over the surface of Crait.

This is where things get tricky…

Snoke’s first physical appearance of the trailer shows him with his hand outstretched possibly torturing Rey with the dark side of the Force.

This absolutely jammed pack trailer does come to an end with Rey and Kylo Ren face to face and Kylo Ren offering his hand, and guidance in the ways of the force possibly?

This without a doubt has been one of the best Star Wars trailers we’ve seen since Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.  It has definitely raised as many questions as it possibly answered.

I feel like we’re all going to be in for a big surprise come December 15, 2017, when The Last Jedi is released in theaters nationwide.
