11. Leia

Leia is one of the most beloved characters of the whole Star Wars series. Carrie Fisher is, and always will be, our beloved princess. She taught generations of girls that they don’t need to be rescued, but that they can, in fact, rescue themselves. She is the heroine that all of us needed.

I think we’d all love to see the formative years of our favorite rebel princess and the way her life develops on the planet of Alderaan (which by the way is a beautiful planet and should be featured in more Star Wars films and series).

Her life on Alderaan was recently explored in the new novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan, and I think that this thematic content, as well as more from her childhood, would be an interesting show. This show could explore a multitude of interesting themes.

Of course, we’d love to see the beginning of Leia’s involvement in the rebellion and how she becomes such a pivotal character in the development of the movement. It thrills me that she is a leader in the rebellion and eventually becomes a general in the resistance.

Leia faces so much adversity her life, and it is so encouraging that she, despite her struggles, she is strong and stays devoted to her cause, becoming a powerful force for change in the galaxy.

Another thing that I would love to see Star Wars tackle is the topic of adoption. Leia and Lile are both adopted and I would love to see Star Wars delve into the topic of adoption. I have always considered Star Wars to be a medium that explores difficult topics and adoption is one of those things. I would love to see Star Wars explore the way that this affects both Luke and Leia.
