4. Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon

We got a little glimpse of a young Obi-Wan in phantom menace, but he is nearing the end of his Padawan training. I think it would be a worthy pursuit to create a series based on Obi-Wan’s Padawan years under the tutelage of Qui-Gon. From the little hints we get in Clone Wars it sounds like it was an incredibly eventful period.

Obi-Wan defies the council in order to train Anakin – a huge risk for him. He takes this risk because he loves Qui-Gon. Obviously, this is a very special master and Padawan relationship and I think it would be a treat for fans to get to see that develop. This relationship is the reason that Anakin becomes a Jedi and is, therefore, the catalyst to the entire story-line of the prequels and the original trilogy.

In The Clone Wars series, we learn that Obi-Wan has a love interest. Apparently, even old Obi toes the line in terms of the Jedi rules of conduct. When she enters the series, Satine Kryze talks to Obi-Wan about a time when he spent a whole year with Qui-Gon on Mandalore helping Satine reclaim her throne.

This is when they fell in love, and I think we would all like to see a young Obi-Wan valiantly fighting alongside Satine and battling feelings he knows he can’t have (very Romeo and Juliet, if you ask me). It’s just too bad that we can’t somehow go back in time and get an early twenties version of the ever charming Ewan McGregor to play a younger Obi!
