2. From the Phantom Menace to Attack of the Clones
I, for one, have always been curious about those eight lost years between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. There are some comics that cover this period, but I would love to see these adventures turned into a show. I think this would do well as a live action series.
I feel like something we gained through the Clone Wars was a development of all of these relationships that make the resolution the Return of the Sith so heart-wrenching and moving. We get to see the development of the relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin after Anakin has become a Jedi Knight during Clone Wars. I would, however, love to see how they develop their relationship while Anakin is still a Padawan.
It would also provide a lot of insight into the relationship that builds between the emperor and Anakin. There is obviously a lot that goes on during those 8 years and we see in Attack of the Clones that Anakin feels a strong loyalty and connection to the Chancellor.
However, as viewers, we miss the development at that. The comics do a great job of beginning to explain this relationship, but I think that having a TV series focused on this period would really allow for fans to understand fully the manipulative power that the Chancellor wields over young Anakin.
He takes advantage of Anakin’s youth and naivete and beings to plant seeds of discontent and doubt in his mind. The influence that the Chancellor has over Anakin is It’s such a pivotal relationship and I think that, as an audience, we haven’t had the opportunity to see much of that relationship.
Another interesting thing about this kind of series is that it would showcase some of the other masters that we see on the council in their youth. It would just be a sort of exploration of the pasts of all the older, wiser Jedi Masters and their earlier days in the order. And who doesn’t want to see a young Mace Windu training at the Jedi Temple?!
