An all-new Star Wars: The Last Jedi teaser TV-spot was shown during the World Series and it has some fantastic new footage. Let’s break it all down…
If you were watching the World Series on Wednesday night, then you might have noticed that Lucasfilm released an all-new TV spot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, if you weren’t watching baseball, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the TV spot titled “Awake”:
Yep, that’s right, your eyes do not deceive you, that was Luke Skywalker entering the Millennium Falcon for the first time in 30+ years. Looks like director Rian Johnson is going to hit Star Wars fans right in the nostalgia center of the brain Like J.J. Abrams did with Han and Chewie entering the Falcon in The Force Awakens.
Before that, however, we get a shot of the Falcon sitting on Ahch-To.
Luke approaches the Falcon’s cockpit…
…and boom, the money shot.
Next, we have Kylo Ren holding his now iconic crossguarded lightsaber.
Snoke makes an appearance in his throne room with Hux and the Praetorian Guards. ‘Darkness rises and Light to meet it.”
Here’s a shot of Finn’s face as he battle’s Captain Phasma in what looks like a very pivotal moment in the film.
The Falcon makes its official appearance on Crait.
It looks like Chewie and his Porg pal shoots down some First Order TIE Fighters, and Finn appreciates it.
Here’s a shot of Leia. It looks like she’s commanding the Resistance forces during a battle.
Finally, Rey ignites the Skywalker familial lightsaber, in the rain, and it looks like she’s ready to use it on someone. Who might that be? We have some thoughts.
What an amazing TV spot for The Last Jedi! I’m actually very surprised how much this teaser reveals about the film. Of course, we’ve heard rumors that Luke would board the Falcon at some point in the film, but to confirm it in a TV spot during the World Series is mind-blowing.
All the being said, the real hero of the TV spot is Plagueis the Porg (yes, I named him).
