The closer we get to the worldwide premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the more promotional material is released…

IMAX has recently unveiled its poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and boy is it an eye-catching piece of artwork. Immediately standing out among the other heroes and villains of the poster is Rey, resplendent in all red.

We’ve seen red dominate much of The Last Jedi’s promotional artwork, leaving us to assume two things: 1. Rey or other characters in the film will take a trip down the Dark Side of the Force at some point in the film. 2. Red is the dust kicked up on the planet Crait where it appears a pivitol battle between the First Order and the Resistance will take place.

Either way, Rey isn’t the only character gracing this IMAX poster, as Kylo Ren stands to her right, holding his helmet, Captain Phasma just below him. To Rey’s left, we have our heores: BB-8, R2, Chewbacca, Threepio, Finn and Rose, Poe Dameron, Leia, and of course, Luke Skywalker.

So what does all this red mean? Well, it could literally be a red herring (pardon the terrible pun), or it could mean that Rey will be lured to the Dark Side through some sort of torture by Supreme Leader Snoke. We have seen this happen in the trailer for the film.

If Snoke’s torture is enough to make Rey’s hate come to the surface, then it would make sense to see her turn to the Dark Side and become his new apprentice. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
