In the latest Issue of Darth Vader from Marvel Star Wars, we’re given some insight into the Jedi’s biggest flaw, impulse control.

This Marvel Star Wars issue begins with Darth Vader at the side of Emperor Palestine dressing down an imperial officer. Darth Vader uses his signature method for showing his displeasure, a force choke, much to the Emperor’s dismay.

Although Emperor Palpatine revels in Vader’s hate and anger, he gives him a stern warning. Vader isn’t directed to control his rage and not to let his rage control him. In what can be taken as a direct threat to Vader, Palpatine suggests he’d rather not rule over a galaxy of the dead.

Darth Vader does his best to control his impulses when an explosion near in Coruscant is brought to his attention. The Imperial Investigator is quite short with Vader, the Dark Lord’s reputation for eliminating Imperial Officers hasn’t been established at this point.

Anger and Hate are good, so long as you control them.

Darth Vader uses his anger in a more productive way and helps discover that it was indeed a Jedi who was responsible for the explosion.

This issue the next moves to the Jedi Temple and Jocasta Nu.

Jocasta Nu continues her mission to create a school for new Jedi. Her first step is retrieving a list of all Force Sensitive Children in the Galaxy. Like Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi, she understands that the Jedi have lost this battle, but the war can still be won.  The tide will be turned by the Future Jedi of the Galaxy.
