The Last Jedi news roundup: A new teaser, runtime confirmed, Empire’s new covers
Since Thanksgiving weekend, loads of all-new Star Wars: The Last Jedi news has hit the internet. We’ve rounded it up for you…
We begin our Star Wars: The Last Jedi news roundup with confirmation of the film’s runtime from the British Board of Classification. According to the site, TLJ will run for 151 minutes and 38 seconds. That makes the movie the lengthiest Star Wars film in the franchise, replacing Attack of the Clones which ran for 142 minutes. Prepare your bladders accordingly.
Moving on, Empire Magazine just released all-new The Last Jedi covers. Check them out:

As you can see from the covers, Empire has firmly placed Kylo Ren as the villain painted in red, and Rey as the hero in blue. Since all the Lucasfilm released promo material has left the good and dark side alignment of most characters extremely ambiguous (Luke made to appear as if he will turn to the Dark Side), seeing the new generation firmly planted on either side of the Force is neat.
There are four new covers to choose from, in all, and they go on sale November 30 (this Thursday). Finally, a new TV spot was released over the holiday weekend, and wow, it’s a good one.
So, we have Phasma saying “Good to have you back,” obviously, we think, talking to Finn. What kind of reunion will that be? Does Phasma hold grudges for being dumped down a trash chute? The answer is yes, always yes.
There’s also a pretty cool shot of Poe swinging his X-Wing around to fire a nifty shot at the First Order, and of course, the pièce de ré·sis·tance is Chewbacca knocking his Porg pal off the Millennium Falcon’s dashboard. I don’t care, the Porgs are still the cutest thing this side of the Outer Rim.
